Depart Nairobi in customized 4x4 safari vehicle and head to OL Pejeta Private Wildlife Conservancy arriving for lunch at Serena Sweetwater's Tented Lodge. Serena Sweetwater's is tucked inside landscaped grounds and offers a holiday experience unlike any other. The camp is a sheltered oasis clustered around a water hole where wild animals come to drink and offers a charming blend of under canvas ambiance. OL Pejeta is situated between the foothills of Mount Kenya and The Aberdares and is the only wildlife protected area that’s home to very high numbers of endangered wildlife species. Sweetwater's is located within this sprawling conservancy and framed by picturesque views of Mount Kenya. Enjoy afternoon game drive that will include a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimpanzees and the specially protected and fenced refuge of Black Rhino. Other than all the "Big 5" more than a thousand different mammals and bird species roam the wilds of OL Pejeta.
SERENA SWETWATERS CAMP
Early morning game drive in OL Pejeta Private Wildlife Conservancy to view more wildlife found in this magnificent conservancy and enjoy spectacular views of the legendary Mount Kenya. After breakfast drive to Aberdare Country Club arriving for lunch. This captivating club is set in Aberdare Highlands and tucked away on the slopes of Mweiga Hill next to Aberdare National Park. Thereafter you will be transferred to The Ark Forest Lodge for overnight game viewing. The Ark is set on an ancient elephant migratory route between The Aberdares and Mount Kenya and is strategically located right in front of a natural floodlit watering hole and salt lick which attracts a host of awesome wildlife. Resembling and named after Noah’s Ark, it comprises of three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide a superb location for wildlife to be seen. The forest provides habitat for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat and the blue duiker.
OVERNIGHT THE ARK FOREST LODGE
After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru which is a soda lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley and encompassed by the majestic Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its incredibly large flocks of flamingo which literally turn the lake pink and is said to be the 'greatest bird spectacle in the world' with numbers reaching into hundreds of thousands. On the way you'll stop at the viewpoint for stunning views of the Great Rift Valley with its lakes and volcanic terrain which is a very spectacular sight. Enjoy lunch at The Cliff, a luxurious camp perched at the top of 100 metre high rock facing the Lake Nakuru. Each tent is built on solid foundations at the edge of the cliff and faces the lake allowing guests 180 degree views of this panoramic paradise and yet maintaining total privacy. Lake Nakuru has recently earned international reputation as an important haven for endangered wildlife species particularly the Rothschild giraffe and the Black and White rhino. Tree-climbing lions, zebra, gazelles, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here. As the sun goes down and before dinner, take time to visit the gym and enjoy a soothing massage in the spa or just relax by the infinity pool with a cold drink.
OVERNIGHT THE CLIFF
Breakfast and enjoy gorgeous views of the Great Rift Valley as you head off to Maasai Mara Game Reserve, the most outstanding wildlife sanctuary in Kenya arriving for lunch at Tipilikwani Camp. Tipilikwani is uniquely situated on the banks of the Talek River one of the tributaries of Mara River overlooking the mottled plains of the Maasai Mara, where vast herds of wildlife co-exist with the colourful Maasai people. From Tipilikwani, Maasai Mara is just across the river and home to the highest density of wildlife in the world, all the "Big 5" and is home to the seventh wonder of the world, The Great Wildebeest Migration. After lunch its time for afternoon game drive in the Mara which is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries and punctuated by marshes and forests. This world famous reserve is located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland and is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant and it's for this reason visitors here hardly misses to see all the "Big 5" (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino).
OVERNIGHT ENTIM MARA CAMP OR TIPILIKWANI CAMP
Whole day game drive in Maasai Mara with picnic lunch. Maasai Mara is the most famous safari destination in Kenya where over 450 species of animals have been recorded. Here you will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. Visit Mara River where thousands of wildebeest and zebra are attacked by crocodiles as they attempt to cross this mighty river during the annual "Great Migration" between Tanzania and Kenya. The migration is today one of the natural world’s most astonishing phenomena. Each year nearly two million wildebeest and accompanying large numbers of zebra, and smaller numbers of Grant's gazelle, Thompson's gazelle, eland and impala trek from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara and back again in search of fresh grazing. Following on their heels are the predators of the savannah, lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. The migration involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. Viewing these vast herds on the move is always unforgettable sight. This experience is rated as one of the most spectacular natural events.
OVERNIGHT ENTIM MARA CAMP OR TIPILIKWANI CAMP
Enjoy early morning game drive in Maasai Mara before breakfast. Maasai Mara Game Reserve is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries and punctuated by marshes and forests. Located in South West of Kenya, Maasai Mara is world famous for its 580 square miles of land where over 95 kinds of mammals and 570 types of bird live and renowned for its huge population of lions. The reserve is home to all the “Big 5” and supports the highest density of wildlife to be seen anywhere. Thereafter drive back to Nairobi arriving on time to board your scheduled flight to the "Spice Island” of Zanzibar departing from Wilson Airport at 1400hrs. Upon arriving Zanzibar you will be met at Abed Karume International Airport and transferred to Next Paradise Boutique Resort in north east coast of Zanzibar Island. This small elegant beach hide out is beautifully set in Pwani Mchangani only 45 minutes drive from Stone Town and 30 minutes from Nungwi and Kendwa, the famous beaches of the north.

Day 9: Zanzibar
