Overview
Picturesque,
steep forested ravines and open moorland characterise the Aberdare
National Park. The park provides a habitat for elephants, black rhinos,
leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus
monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings
include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat,
African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker. Visitors can
indulge in picnics, trout fishing in the rivers and camping in the
moorlands. Bird viewing is rewarding, with over 250 species of birds in
the park, including the Jackson’s Francolin, Sparrow hawks, goshawks,
eagles, sunbirds and plovers

Day 1: Nairobi-Aberdares National park - Forest tree lodge
Distance: 180 km (3 hrs.) Depart Nairobi at 0830hrs. Cross the Kenyan Highlands, through pineapple and coffee plantations, to your “base hotel” in time for lunch at Aberdare Country Club.
Afternoon transfer into to The Ark Lodge for bird watching and overnight floodlit game viewing from the lodge viewing decks. Ark Lodge, set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, is an unique tree lodge with a veranda that overlooks a floodlit waterhole and saltlick allowing undisturbed views of wildlife visiting the waterhole. Elephant, rhino, leopard, bushbuck and occasionally an elusive bongo and giant forest hog have been sighted.
The 60 guest rooms are all en-suite. All cabins have private bathrooms with shower, and are comfortably furnished with bedside lamps and carpeted floors to ward off the evening and morning chill. Resembling and named after Noah’s Ark, The Ark Tree Lodge is designed with ‘decks’ from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing. A ground level bunker provides excellent photographic opportunities and takes you closer than you would believe possible to the wildlife.-

Day 2: Aberdare National Park -Lake Nakuru National Park
Today we travel to the exotic Lake Nakuru National Park located in the Great Rift Valley. After lunch an exciting game run is planned for the afternoon. The game in this park is plentiful and the magnificent bird watching will make a devotee out of even the most reluctant.
The Park is a home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lakeshores in to a magnificent pink stretch. The bird life here is world renown and over 400 birds’s species exist here, White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets and Marabou Stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the white Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lion Hills Lodge

Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park– Masai Mara
After breakfast pick up from your hotel between 7am- 8:00am and drive west for Maasai Mara Game Reserve with lunch enroute arriving in time for evening game drive, upon arrical if time allows you can pass by your Accommodation place and have coffee if time does not allow proceed direct for your evening game drive in Masai Mara game reserve which is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. Including Wildebeest Migration and well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. July, August and September are the months the wildebeest and zebra Migrates from Serengeti to Masai Mara, there is also resident wildlife throughout the year.
The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Accommodation: Mara Sarova tented camp.

Day 3: Full Day at Maasai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast your guide will pick you from your Lodge or Camp at 7:45am or early and proceed on a full day game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills. The reserve is the best park for game in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network which allows for close range viewing of the animals. Break for your picnic lunch at the hippo pool, looking out for hippos and crocodile. After the evening game drive optional visit the Masai Village at an extra fee payable direct. Dinner and overnight at the camp Accommodation: Mara Sarova tented camp.

Morning Drives Scenic Drive Bird Watching Begin today with an early morning game drive followed by a complete English breakfast at your lodge. Depart for Nairobi with a game drive en-route.
